Important Information for Volunteers

The following tasks must be completed by volunteers before coming to the Farm or Garden:

  1. Please let us know to expect you at the Farm or Chadwick Garden. Contact us at agroecology@ucsc.edu or 831-459-3240 to let us know you are interested in volunteering.
  2. Complete and submit the campus Volunteer Form with an end date of December 31, 2022.
  3. Complete and submit a Workers' Compensation form. The recommended form for all UCSC volunteers is the Volunteer Waiver and Election of Workers’ Compensation Coverage; the volunteer is both electing workers' compensation and waiving other remedies. A volunteer who does not want to accept workers’ compensation coverage must sign the General Use Waiver instead. Submit these completed forms to Heidi Harris, Volunteer Coordinator: hharris2@ucsc.edu.
If you do not have access to a computer, please let us know so we can have these items completed in advance of arriving on campus.

Parking Instructions

Parking lots #115 and #116 (south campus near the Farm and Hay Barn), #119 (near Chadwick Garden/Merril College) and #168 (near back gate entrance to Farm/The Village) are all free on weekends, and require permits from 7am-5pm on weekdays. Here is a map of campus parking lots and information on parking permit requirements.

If you will be coming to campus during the time where a parking permit is required, or you are not sure if a parking permit is needed, please email agroecology@ucsc.edu for assistance.
