During the February 28th Giving Day event, support the dirt. The real dirt.
The Friends of the UCSC Farm & Garden have been getting their hands dirty for decades. For more than 50 years we have been building sustainable agricultural and food systems that make positive environmental impacts, contribute to a thriving local economy, and are founded in socially just systems.
During the one-day Giving Day event, you can support the Friends of the Farm & Garden with your gift.
When you support the Friends, you provide…
- Scholarships to the Apprenticeship in Ecological Horticulture
- Undergraduate research and training in agroecology & sustainable food systems
- Improvements to the Farm & Garden structures, equipment, and facilities
- Seeds and tools for use at the Farm & Garden
- Public workshops, lectures, plant sales, and celebrations
And you...
- Teach people how to grow food and flowers
- Bring social issues into conversations about food and farming
- Provide vibrant, hands-on educational opportunities on the UCSC campus
- Foster sustainability and justice in agriculture around the world
