Mobile Food Hub Student Design Contest

June 08, 2020

Current UC Santa Cruz students who will be enrolled through the 2020 fall quarter are invited to submit designs for the wrap design contest for the new CASFS Mobile Food Hub.

The Mobile Food Hub is a 16 foot kitchen trailer that will be regularly stationed at Oakes College on the UC Santa Cruz campus beginning in fall of 2020. It will also regularly travel across campus for meals, food events, and educational collaborations. The trailer is the latest addition to UCSC Basic Needs food access resources, which also include the Cowell Coffee Shop non-transactional cafe, campus food pantries, and the Produce Pop-Up.

Submissions will be selected based on relevance to CASFS and affiliate program values, originality, and strength of aesthetic qualities. The contest winner or winning team will receive an award of $1,000.

To enter the contest, eligible participants must complete the online entry form by Monday, June 15th. Completed designs must be submitted by Monday, June 30th. More information, contest rules, selection criteria and design suggestions can be found at bit.ly/casfsdesigncontest.

A Q&A forum forum for contest participants will take place via Zoom on June 15th at 6pm. Participants who sign up for the contest will receive an invitation to this virtual event. Visit the CASFS and Basic Needs websites for more information about our work. For questions and inquiries, contact Brooks Schmitt, Cowell Coffee Shop food supervisor, at jschmitt@ucsc.edu.
