Join us for Opening Day of the 2021 CASFS Farmstand (formerly known as Market Cart) on Tuesday, June 15, marking the return of fresh, delicious organic produce and beautiful flowers after a one year break.
The Farmstand will be at a new location this year—the Cowell Ranch Hay Barn on the UC Santa Cruz campus—and will be open from 12 noon – 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays through November 23, 2021. Starting this year, we will accept credit card payments in addition to cash, check, and EBT payments. If paying with a card, please bring a smart device to pay for your produce via our online payment system.
Early season Farmstand offerings include organically grown blueberries, strawberries, green onions, lettuce, arugula, salad mix, spinach, bok choi and swiss chard. Shoppers can take part in our blueberry U-pick at the UCSC Farm in early summer.
As the season progresses, shoppers can look forward to heirloom and dry-farmed tomatoes, sweet corn, broccoli, potatoes, sweet and hot peppers, apples, cucumbers, basil, winter squash, and much more. All the produce is organically grown at the UCSC Farm and Alan Chadwick Garden by staff and student staff of the UCSC Center for Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems (CASFS).
Visitors to the UC Santa Cruz campus must wear a face covering, keep a 6-foot distance from others, and fill out the COVID-19 Symptom Questionnaire before arriving on campus each day campus is accessed.
